After graduating from the University of Pretoria with her Bachelor of Veterinary Science and gaining diverse experience in private practice and animal welfare, Dr. Lerato Nedzanani joined the State Veterinary Services in 2024.
Dr. Lerato is a dedicated veterinarian with a passion for clinical practice and a strong foundation in the One Health approach. Her clinical experience encompasses small animal medicine and surgery, including a high volume of spay/neuter procedures, diagnostic imaging, and compassionate client consultations. Alongside her clinical work as a part-time locum for welfare organizations, she contributed to public health and international trade in her role as a State Veterinarian, where she streamlined export control procedures. Dr. Lerato is currently furthering her expertise through a Master of Science in Paraclinical Sciences. She is able to consult in English and several other local South Afican languages.
In her spare time, she enjoys literature, art, and blogging. She also stays active through soccer and loves exploring new coffee shops and travel destinations.
